This is the Personal Profile for AMS Pro Golf LLC Americans have always been inspired by people who transcend limitations.
That’s one of the reasons we like sports so much. Sports pages are filled with stories of athletes who successfully battle a variety of natural obstacles: birth defects (withered left arm—golfer Calvin Peete), disease (cancer—Lance Armstrong), and aging (Randy Johnson). I am one such athlete.
As a person with dyslexia, I don’t think I need to explain to you in any great detail the challenges I’ve faced. Education for kids with dyslexia has come a long way since the 1960s and 1970s, but growing up with limited resources, I struggled to achieve ninth-grade reading proficiency. (As you’ve probably guessed, I’ve had help with this letter; I’ve got a great family and friends). I aim to become a successful professional golfer, so that I can serve as a role model for people who have dyslexia, and show them that their dreams can also become a reality.
As your company’s sponsored player I can effectively represent your brand both on the course and in my every day life. Since picking up a golf club at the age of 9 I have had the dream of being a Pro. Even now, each time I go to a course and stand on the first tee, I feel this is where I belong. I played on the Varsity Golf Team all four years of high school, and channeled that experience into a 13 year career as a certified golf instructor. In 2006 I felt that is was time for me to follow my dream of playing competitive golf, and became a member of the New England Pro Tour. During my two seasons on tour, notable professionals like Walter Morgan, Jim Hallet Charlie Rutledge and Brian Hebb praised my performance and encouraged me to continue to develop my skills to achieve further success on tour.
The 2010 Golf Tour Season will be here shortly and to prepare for the season I need to be able to practice daily to be Tour ready. To devote the time, energy and focus necessary to get to the Winner’s Circle I am seeking $75,000 from one or more sponsors for the 2010 tour season.
The $75,000 sounds like lot, but I estimate this amount is necessary cover both Tour expenses and my regular cost of living expenses. In order to be confident that I can play a full season, I need to reach my sponsorship goal by the beginning of the 2010 Tour season.
With your support and sponsorship, I can take a leave of absence from my current job and spend all of my time and effort improving my game and developing into a marketable player. The result will be a successful 2010 season for me and a positive return on your investment.
I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss a partnership with you. I firmly believe I have a great career ahead of me; I look forward to you being a part of it.
Sincerely,
Anthony “Cool Tony” Sbarra
