Hello. I’m Donny McCall, inventor of the patent approved Invis-A-Rack and CEO of Invis-A-Rack, LLC.
Every truck owner needs a utility rack sometimes, but not all the time. Every truck owner, at some time, has a need to carry something longer than the bed of their truck; a ladder, lumber, or a canoe or kayak…even some obscure artifact purchased at an auction. Until now, owning a truck rack has been extremely limited. Permanent racks are large, unsightly and difficult to put on or take off when necessary. Quick on and off racks are a little more convenient, but the first time you leave it on the garage wall when you are away from home and need it, the cost is not justified. That’s where the patent pending Invis-A-Rack meets and exceeds the needs of the nearly 40 million truck owners in the US. Whether you have a brand new $50,000 truck or a $1500 clunker, the Invis-A-Rack allows trucks to meet their true potential. It is the four wheel drive of utility racks. When you need it, fold it up and use it. Carry material to the jobsite or a canoe to the river while allowing full use of the truck bed. The Invis-A-Rack, along with its accessories, creates Transformational Versatility. They allow your truck to be your ultimate personal, professional, and recreational vehicle wrapped into one. When you don’t need it, fold it down out of the way. Go out to dinner…or a hot date… in an attractive truck, not a work truck. If you are not carrying something, save fuel by eliminating drag going down the highway. Why have a permanent rack all the time, when you only need it some of the time? We are market ready. The first round of funding secured the necessities for production. The sample run of units work even better than expected. Extrusion dies and plastic molds are complete, hardware has been sourced, and all of the other expenses (insurance, UPC symbol, marketing materiel, etc.) are poised and ready to go. Through our membership with SEMA, we have been able to meet with several retailers (brick and mortar and online) and distributors. The response has been overwhelmingly positive. A competitor manufacturer agrees that it is the most significant design innovation since the invention of the cargo rack itself. One obstacle will simply be marketing to the truck population that needs to learn that the Invis-A-Rack exists, and is the cargo management solution they can't do without. The only other obstacle is what is needed now for the first production of inventory and operating expenses. Projected financials have been on the conservative side. We have projected just capturing 1/8 of 1% of the current market of trucks on the road over a five year period. We believe there will be more. Steady sales across the five year period of the 1/8% would gross sales of 43 million dollars, with a net of around 12 million dollars. I understand truck racks are not sexy. It's not the ipod, google, a great IT solution, or some "as seen on tv" product. However, the Invis-A-Rack will fill an unmet need and provide a viable solution for a portion (probably large) of the 40 million truck owners that need a truck rack some of the time, but not all the time. |
