| About Me: |
With greater than 20 years experience as a Respiratory Therapist I had several ideas for a product to develop that would lend less exasperation to the patient and to the practitioner. My first product was Strapparatus Headgear. The idea originated from observing patients in the hospital issued headgear that simply had imperfect fit. The idea began as a prototype which had to be searched for similar prior art by a university professor. The prototype eventually evolved into a product, having a UPC, exhibited at a Respiratory & Sleep Medicine conference. In the interim, I worked on building a website by taking online courses. The website initially had 20 visitors per day, and ultimately reached 5000 visitors per month (recently). The site is now getting 15,000 hits per month. My time is further limited now by launching a second patent pending product called Hook-Ring headgear which is used with disposable anesthesia masks. The applications for this are in Respiratory, Anesthesia, and Emergency Medical Services. In addition, I continue with my full-time employment as a staff Respiratory Therapist at Palmetto Health Baptist Medical center. I have an active interest in gardening, and growing vegetables which we enjoyed eating this past summer. My ability to launch the company is no easy task, and requires a lot of time and energy. I'm always seeking connections with larger companies in which the two products may find a "fit". My perspectives of product functionality is different than major manufacturers as the products that I produce are hand made and originated from actual patient and practitioner application. |

| About My Business: |
Niche products for Respiratory Care & Sleep Medicine. Invented a head strap that adjusts anteriorly versus posteriorly with a single rear strap versus an upper / lower neoprene strap. Patent Pending Medical Headgear for critical care, in-hospital use or home care patients. Second product is a headstrap for disposable anesthesia masks. This product rivals the traditional head harness made of silicone. Advantage of product is ease of application in the numerous medical uses within the hospital as well as Emergency Medical services use. Patent Pending. Strapparatus launched in Feb. 2008. Advertised in the Focus Journal for Respiratory Care and Sleep Medicine in April/May, June/July, with editiorial article about company in August/September issue describing "Respiratory Entrepreneurship 101". Exhibited both products at the 2009 Focus Conference for Respiratory Care and Sleep Medicine (1500 attendees). Currently the anesthesia mask headgear has the greatest potential for generalized use as the concept of sealing the mask with a head harness is some 50-60 years (patent history) with no innovation or upgrades . Strapparatus continues to seek distributorship, and licensure with larger companies seeking a "fit" with their current product lines. |
