This is the Personal Profile for doctorkosan. PhD engineering, PMD Program Harvard Bus. School. Ten years experience in alternative, renewable fuels. Formerly CEO of 3 different publically traded companies. After 23 years of experience at Occidental Chemical Corp., I was recruited to head up a publicly traded chemical business in Montreal. I steered that company through bankruptcy and after emerging as a profitable entity, it was acquired by Tembec where it continues to perform well today. Then I joined NA largest wood treating business as CEO. I grew that mature business in sales from $60M to over $100M in less than 3 years. Nine years ago, I joined a private Canadian forest industry company and as President started up a venture in speciality wood products. At the same time, I headed up their effort to find the most effective use of the wood waste that their mills generate (fines, bark, etc.). The answer to that question was conversion of the wood waste to alternative liquid fuels. Multiple technologies were evaluated and the best evolving process was acquired for further development as no commercial process exists to complete the needed transformation profitably. As a result of that work, I was hired as CEO of Syntec Biofuel (also publicly traded) to continue to advance that same technology. While there, we increased the key process yield from 40 gallons of gasoline equivalent per ton of wood waste to 113 - a level that will be profitable. This year I joined JGS Research as CEO to advance their alternative fuel technology that makes a diesel fuel replacement from wood waste. That is the basis of our PerfectPitch submission. |
