| About Me: |
MARIA KOPSIDAS Owner/Operator, Cookology Maria Kopsidas has spent fifteen years leading PR, marketing and communications campaigns for Fortune 500 companies and trade associations, restaurants, corporate and charity events. As the founder and owner, Cookology is a creation of Maria’s delicious design. Growing up in a Mediterranean household where cooking was the passion or the past time there was always something to learn, some technique to master and always something great to eat. Maria wanted to create a place where parents, professionals or the generally epi-curious just like her could go to try out the latest kitchen gadgets, and learn how to put together a healthy and homemade meal that leaves money and time to spare. By combining her food-centric background with her extensive career in marketing, design and communications, Maria was able to conceive the culinary center of her dreams, and then make her plans a reality. |

| About My Business: |
COOKOLOGY, RECREATIONAL CULINARY SCHOOL Cookology is a hands-on cooking school, wine bar and retail store. We offer hands-on cooking classes for adults and children. We believe that everyone, with a little practice, can make healthy, delicious meals at home. Our professionally trained chefs teach unique culinary classes from culinary boot camp to sushi to cheese making. We offer weekly wine education courses, wine and food pairing dinners, theme based classes such as singles nights and date night, and a series of baking and pastry classes. Cookology offers value to the lives of our suburban customers by teaching a skill they can use everyday, at an affordable price point without forcing a significant time commitment. Value is further compounded by improved social networking and community building, and by offering a fun and entertaining evening out. We pride ourselves on offering informative instruction guided by professional chefs, all of which are either culinary school trained or have years of experience in their field. We do not work from a recipe as most culinary schools do, we instead teach from the ground up, beginning with a knife skills primer and then moving on to three courses coached by an experienced and informative chef instructor. We are looking for expansion capital and strategic partnerships for both the prototype store and future stores. We have just been nominated by our peers for the 2009 Small Business of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year award presented by the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce. |
