| About Me: |
My name is Scot Richardson and I am a serial entrepreneur. I graduated with a business degree from UC San Diego while president of Sigma Chi Fraternity, playing NCAA golf, and running my first business. I currently own and operate a company called ComedyJuice. We have been profitable for the last 7 years and produce some of the most famous live comedy events in the country at clubs like The Improv, Comix NY, The Icehouse, & The Laugh Factory with the countries top comedians. I'm passionate about live comedy and having been in this industry for 8 years, I see a problem that I want to fix. I have relationships with venues, almost every working comedian in the country, and have an existing email list of over 200,000 comedy fans. |

| About My Business: |
I have started a company called LaughStub. LS will be to comedy clubs what Fandango is to movies and Open Table is to restaurants. Comedy clubs struggle to sell their tickets as they lack marketing prowess, technology, and scale in this fractured market. On the consumer side, I constantly meet people who like watching live comedy but very often don't know who the comedians are. We will supply them with categories, user reviews, ratings, and video previews so that they can find shows that appeal to their sense of humor. We will also supply the artists with tools to sell tickets to their shows, including an embedable ticketing system. Since artists usually receive a percentage of ticket sales, they are excited to have the ability to sell tickets through their facebook, myspace, and websites. We will build tools and technology for artists, tools for venues like iphone aps, build an online community with user reviews and previews, and give 100% of the ticket back to the venues/artists. We will take a reasonable service fee ($2.50) which already exists when you pre-purchase tickets at comedy clubs. WIth over 120,000 live comedy tickets for sale every night at the club level and approximately 75,000 of those being currently sold every night, if we can achieve 5-10% of the comedy club ticket market, we have an incredibly strong first revenue stream. We will also be able to be a retailer for comedy merchandise, act as a booking conduit, produce theater shows with our marketing reach, and sell locally directed advertising both on our website and newsletter. Once established, we can also acquire the clubs full online ticket sale business by offering the clubs free advertising, sales information on comedians (pollstar), a comedy community to tap into, and better technology. This will allow us to offer unprecedented value to a club to become their full time ticketing company, embedded on their website and supported by a call center. By doing this, we hope to achieve between 15-20% of the comedy club ticketing market and eventually achieve a large exit. We have started development and have letters of intent from several prominent clubs. If you are an accredited investor and would like to see the business plan and financials, please contact me at scot@laughstub.com. |
