Sheri brings 18 years of experience in the beauty industry with a strong background in sales and marketing. She has worked in a consultant capacity with thousands of salons and industry professionals in the U.S. and Canada to assist them in growing and managing their business. Sheri explains her concept, "42% of salons overall, do not employ a receptionist. In many of these businesses, a salon owner spends a good portion of their revenue in various marketing efforts (website development, advertising, special discounts and promotions) to attract new clients, only to lose over 50% of the potential clients before they ever walk in the door. New clients calling a beauty establishment for a first appointment or for information on services and prices will rarely leave a message or remain on hold for longer than a minute. The salons also run the risk of losing existing clients due to the frustration of having to leave a message to book an appointment, being unavailable when the salon calls back, and getting a message to call back and starting the process all over again. This game of voicemail tag has no real winners. The existing clients are also often subjected to many interruptions in their services while the technician is answering and dealing with callers. The remaining 58% of the salons that do employ reception staff have challenges as well. Beauty establishments are on average open 70 to 80 hours each week. They generally staff the reception position less than 40 hours per week and base those hours on their peak foot traffic. Because phone traffic patterns are very different from internal foot traffic, this practice leaves huge gaps in their coverage."
