Life and Work Experience:

I began my career as a freelance PR writer and creative consultant in 2002. I worked part-time during college creating collateral and PR material for a botique ad shop.

In 2004, I finished my BS in marketing and economics, and then spent the ensuing summer backpacking through Europe. Good times. Post-euro, I landed a PA internship with a Chicago-based production firm, Really Real Productions.

In Early 2005, I nabbed another internship. This time with the American Cancer Society, Illinois Division. My unofficial title was "media relations guy." Essentially, I wrote and designed collateral, assembled press kits and coordinated events. Pretty invigorating stuff, but not enough to keep me out of grad school.

I did the MA thing at Marquette University (2005-2007). It was a great experience. And they actually let me teach visual communication courses to pay my way, which was nice.
