Charles Stevenson - Managing Director Charles Stevenson is responsible for overall management and success of the business, including vision, managing the business model, driving sales, business partnership development and profitability. His specific roles include business development in the United States and Europe primarily in regards to the proprietary network of customer base locations. He also focuses on stateside University Relations in Califronia and Colorado. He heads the online marketing effort including the management of the search engine marketing campaign, social networking campaign and other direct marketing in the online realm. Additionally he plans trips in North America, South America and Asia. Stevenson demonstrated the feasibility of the SnoworSand business model in 2005 while living in Italy as a study abroad student. He organized, sold and led multiple trips while running a search engine marketing campaign and assisting web development for the concept. He returned to the United States to finish his undergraduate education before launching the company again in 2008. Stevenson has over 5 years experience in the Hospitality Industry, including management experience for Hillstone Restaurant group in Denver, Los Angeles, and Orlando. Previously, he worked as a Search Engine Marketing Specialist with Aegis Media and Carat Fusion in Boston. He also worked as for Ritz Carlton Hotels in San Juan, Puerto Rico and The Sun Valley Resort in Sun Valley, ID. Stevenson graduated Suma Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Stevenson is an avid backcountry skier and rock climber. Nicholas Kurlas- Director of Operations As co-founder, Nicholas responsibilities include overall Management and success of the business, including vision, managing the business model, driving sales, business partnership development and profitability. His specific roles include managing ground operations in Europe, developing and executing direct marketing campaigns in several regions and the Company’s overall financial Management. Additionally he plans trips in Europe, North and South Africa. Kurlas has 6 years of experience in business planning, venture fundraising, entrepreneurship and small business management. He co-founded and served as the Managing Director of Ticketclub.com, which developed a mobile ticket-sales technology catered for the entertainment industry as well selling event tickets worldwide. Kurlas graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northeastern University with a Degree in Business Administration and currently serves as an advisor to the Entrepreneur Club at the University of Southern California. He is fluent in Spanish and Italian and has travelled or lived in over 25 countries on five continents. Kurlas also enjoys playing soccer competitively in Italy. Peter Stevenson - Product Development As a manager of product development, Peter's roles include developing and executing trips to new destinations worldwide. He provides quality control at the operations level, auditing trips to ensure they are holding true to the company's goals and objectives. Additionally, Stevenson manages online content including the website and the blog. Peter is an avid fly fisherman and skier, and has taken part in expeditions in the Patagonia wilderness. Stevenson graduated Cum Laude from the University of Puget Sound. Tyler Kurlas - Marketing Specialist Tyler assists with direct and guerilla marketing campaigns that focus on reaching our university student market. His role includes oversight of our online social media effort including Facebook, Twitter and other online channels. Kurlas also develops and leads trips to destinations around the world, conducting research and developement and ensuring customer satisfaction. Tyler has spearheaded our organic Globetrotter organization and "Why Do We Travel?" marketing campaign. Kurlas is an experieinced squash player, and has competed at a national collegiate level. Kurlas studies engineering at University of Southern California where he was the president of the Entrepreneurship Club, and is now living in Italy. Christopher Pannek – Director of Information Technology Christopher’s responsibilities include creation and Management of the Company Web site, SnoworSand.com, including creative development and branding. An initial SnoworSand founder in 2005, Pannek has several years of experience in website development and Management including consultation for various for-profit companies. Pannek graduated with a degree in Computer Science and Business from Washington State University and currently has the distinction of being an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Verena Dalati- Director of University Relations As Director of University Relations, Verena Dalati is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with universities and study abroad program worldwide. Additionally, she designs and markets trips catered towards students in specific fields of study. Dalati also coordinates publicity events as part of our direct marketing campaign. Dalati graduated Suma Cum Laude from Florida State University and is fluent in French, Italian, Arabic and English. |
